Soundtrack
Anatype 1.7 has been released with a big new feature called Soundtrack.
The immersive fullscreen text editor that blocks the internet can now also capture the music playing while you write. Apple Music and Spotify are currently supported. Music can be played back while the internet block is on and the playing track with position is recorded as you write each word.
A Soundtrack will be created for each document that captures what you listening to and feeling while you wrote. You can view the list of tracks you listened to in the document and play them back. There is a “Show in Text” mode that will highlights every word with a sound association and hovering over the word will show the track and offer playback in the song at the exact second it was recorded.
Music helps me (and many others) focus. The goal of Anatype is to provide the writer with the tools to enable focus. I originally left Music out but now realize its importance. The Soundtrack idea went from a “what if” to a real feature that has meaning. Being able to capture what you were listening to or feeling in the moment is something. Music can transport us back into a moment and I wanted that for my writing.
The Soundtrack feature is optional and can be enabled or disabled in settings.
There are a bunch of other improvements and bugfixes in this new version so please upgrade or try it out!
